Apple Pie

A few weeks ago, my sisters came over while the men went to Conference. My sister Malinda fell in love with the apples off our tree. She picked a few and ate them right off the tree. While we sat around the fire in the back yard, she all of a sudden started spitting into the fire. Holly thought she was having a seizure, I thought she was throwing up. Well, come to find out, she hadn't checked her apple good enough and bit a worm in half. She said she was going to blog about it and I was just going to link to hers, but she hasn't blogged about it yet (I think she's too grossed out to admit she ate a worm; well, half of it.)

I always have to pick up apples before mowing and this week, I decided to pick as many as I could while my brother-in-law mowed. Some of my nieces and nephew came and helped and we had a laundry basket full, plus some. Today, we decided to do something with them. Kevin and I started making apple pie filling and my mom came to help us finish. I was impressed with our abilities even before my mom got there. I can't wait to taste some, aside from dipping an apple slice in the sauce. I'm sure it's not going to be as good as Kevin's dad's, but we can't find his recipe; he took it with him to heaven.
Sarah was experimenting in her Jenny Jump-up, but wasn't real thrilled with it. She's still working on holding up her big head.

Here's what we have left, but I ran out of bottles and time.

Just for the record, I didn't eat even half of the worm . . . I just tasted it and then spit it out. :)

We'll take your extra apples if you want to get rid of them. I have bottles and time.

Eat...taste...it's a fine line, especially when it's so little.

I'll check with Kevin on the apples. I don't know that I have objections. I do have 10 pints I want to fill but I don't want to buy more bottles. I'll let you know.

Thanks for posting the worm story. Malinda omits a lot of her funny/gross moments off her blog. BTW-I love all the pictures of baby Sarah! She's so cute. You're a lucky gal!

P.S. I promise I'm not a blog stalker or some random person commenting on blogs. I'm Malinda's friend. We have run into each other at Malinda's house so we're practically acquaintances.;)
